A former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu is very confident that the Super Eagles will fly over Seychelles in the 2019 AFCON qualifier on Saturday.
In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, the 1980 African Nations Cup winner expressed his joy at the turn out of players in camp.
“I think our boys have responded by coming to camp. Even though some of them have withdrawn from the team but the ones we have can deliver,” Chukwu stated.
As at press time, 20 players have arrived the Super Eagles’ camp in Victoria, Mahé Island in Seychelles.
The players in the Savoy Hotel camp are Henry Onyekuru, Kenneth Omeruo, Francis Uzoho, Semi Ajayi, Samuel Kalu, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chidozie Awaziem, Kelechi Nwakali, Bryan Idowu, Simeon Nwankwo and Joel Obi.
Others are Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi, Odion Ighalo, Jamilu Collins, Oghenekaro Etebo, Leon Balogun, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi.
On the team’s twitter handle, the players were seen playing the Foot-Volleyball match to build up their fitness levels.
Meanwhile, the coach Gernot Rohr has urged the players not to underrate the hosts as the Eagles aim to collect all three points and brighten their chances of qualifying for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Super Eagles lost 2-0 to South Africa in their first game of the qualifying series in Uyo.
